Fernhaber:
STAGE
BUILDER
Hi, I'm Ethan.

I am the founder of five organizations dedicated to restoring hope by creating and transforming communities across Indiana. God has called me to be a stage builder—creating spaces where others can stand and thrive—and I do this through the medium of housing. My team and I are excited to be part of the solution not only to the housing crisis, but also to the crisis of hope facing our land.
Whether employing the formerly incarcerated on the Volumod factory floor, providing tiny homes for chronically homeless neighbors, or serving the 5,000+ families who live in our apartment communities, my focus is always on people. People are God’s most precious creation, and providing a home is a sacred calling.
I am the grandson of a laborer and an electrician, and I hold deep respect for those who work with their hands. I began my career as a meat cutter and purchased my first rental—a double-wide trailer—in 2003 using a home equity line of credit. My story is one of “exceedingly and abundantly more” (Eph. 3:20).
Stewarding land and the structures that house people is a great stage to build so others may stand and thrive. Won’t you join us?

ETHAN'S
PERSONAL
JOURNEY
When I started my first company in 2003, my focus was simply to make money. I eventually accomplished my goals for asset accumulation only to find it a deceptive mirage. Thankfully, God changed my heart and priorities and gave me freedom through surrender. These days, I see my businesses as an opportunity to restore hope in hearts and lives. While we certainly operate profitable businesses that bring income and investment returns to our partners, we no longer just focus on land development, modular construction and property management. We simultaneously work to bring physical, vocational, emotional and spiritual health to those we serve.

The future is bright! We are building a housing ecosystem from start to finish to impact working families in our state. Along the way we're joining with other like-minded investors who believe in our mission and want both a return on investment and a lasting impact.

OTHER BUSINESS &
NONPROFIT ENDEAVORS
Over the years, several organizations have emerged from my commitment to cultivating hope and empowering people to live with purpose and unity. Some, such as Sentinel Communities and Command Crime Cleanup, originated in response to needs within apartment communities. Others were born from engagement in church and community life. These organizations are also part of my life's work and grounded in the conviction that hope is real—and that its truest source is God, the author of enduring hope.
Sentinel Communities is a private security company. Operated by a detective and staffed with off-duty police officers, Sentinel has reduced crime and improved safety in Renewing Management communities around the state.
